Topic: Maybe You can relate to this

Gidday,
My friend has the great burden to be a parking warden,so i wrote this for him.
Of course these are only words,i could never be like this surely.
`The Dance`
Doing the dance
taking a chance
pushing my luck to the full
Avoid..... the parking warden
Move my car
not too far
down round the corner
But far enough
to fool.... the parking warden?
Doing a dance..... with the parking warden
Shall i put my money in the slot
or shall i not
continue the dance,....with the parking warden
Tell a lie, he`s heard them all
all the stories often tall
just another dance....with the parking warden

yep! that's a cracker. i think we've all done the dance with the traffic warden, i managed to get out of a ticket in Swansea once because Ann, my other half was pregnant at the time. in my town, (Llanelli), i've never managed to get away with anything!

i like this and hope to hear it as a song one of these fine days?

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Re: Maybe You can relate to this

Do this all the time, it's not about the money, just the dance. C'mon easybeat put a tune to it.

Thick as two short planks

Re: Maybe You can relate to this

I did bang out a quick version of it,but think it turned out pretty average.

Re: Maybe You can relate to this

A while back, I became aware of a town here in Nova Scotia that is governed by insane parking regulations. First off they have parking meters in the thier downtown shopping core. This has the negative effect of discouraging leisurely shopping, and hurts the many interesting and unique shops in the area. The town states that they take in about $28,000 annually from the meters and parking violation tickets.

Here's the kicker! The person they employ to enforce parking (parking warden) is paid an annual salary of $60,000. So the town goes $32,000 in in the hole each year just to have parking meters. And you can guess how they make up that shortfall ... increased commercial tax rates. So in the essence, the downtown shops are paying twice.

Where on this green earth is the common sense in all of that? Is it time for a Bolshevik Revolution?

Re: Maybe You can relate to this

The thing with common sense is it is not common. As time moves on with less people getting a slice of the cake due to unemployment,  technology destroying the need for workers there will have to come a big revolutionary change in what and how we value things. The oppressed  majority will  have to learn how to overcome the minority that hold more power. Rule and divide is a hand brake on reforming and making change for the better of all. No such thing as imposible if everyone works together.

Re: Maybe You can relate to this

as long as there are poor fools who are prepared to accept the crumbs from the rich man's table there will never be equality. and as long as some numpty puts up parking metres or puts down double yellow lines, there will never be true happiness for the humble motorist that may be needing a pee? or a dozen eggs?
