Good morning and welcome to the forums jen72. I had asked that question last week, I'm hoping that it's just a glitch in the new system and that we have'nt lost that feature. I use alternate chords often as they can give a slightly different voicing to the chord. Sometimes it's just plain easier on these old arthritic fingers.
mine is still working.
Yep.
I can still get all the variations
You should be able to SEE the different variations by clicking on the Chord in question. This doesn't replace it in the song file though when you print it out or save it in your songbook. When in an open song, click on the chord you'd like to see alternate variations of, it should open up the resources page with just that chord. You'll need to hit the browsers back button to go back to the song (as the link on that page will take you to the WHOLE big list of alternate chords).
If clicking the chord chart doesn't pull that page up, this could be a matter of Java needing updated (or a few other things). Let me know how you make out.
Thanks so much for your feedback - yes, just to be clear, I can SEE the variations but can no longer replace the ones that show by default on the song page itself.
Yes, hopefully it is sorted out soon, I too use variations often.
Hi Jen72,
I do not ever remember being able to change the chord grids other than within the chordpro formatting. Like so:
{chord:[name] E A D G B e [barre fret]}
Example:
{chord: G 1 3 3 2 1 3} this would show an F shaped chord with a 3 to indicate 3rd fret so a barred G chord
The red shown part would have to be written after the title and sub-title but before the intro chords in the song.

Hi Roger,
You used to be able to go the variations, choose the one that suits you, click it, and it would revert to the song you are on, with your chosen variation of the chord in place of the default. I used this feature often and am missing it!

Ditto! I miss that feature too.
I have reported this for you, hopefully it will be reinstated.

I have reported this for you, hopefully it will be reinstated.

The chord variation feature is back, thank you for reporting the problem Roger. I'm sure jen72 is as happy as I am that it's been reinstated.
Woo hoo! Sure am!! Thanks so much everyone, happy playing!
