Hi Hopeful,

A mixer is basically a box to plug a number of microphones, guitars, keyboards etc into and to control the volume, tone and effects of each one to blend or mix the sound to what is required.

It can then be passed to a gigawatt amplifier to blow the roof off, headphones to keep the neighbours happy or a recording device to be able to sell your music and make a fortune.:lol:

I only have an Acoustic at home, but when I go to my friends I play electric.
I like playing along with existing numbers alot too.
