Topic: Well, Now The Whole Fam Damily's Sick :)

This cute little guy is named Betram (Bert or Bertie for short) and we just had him seen by the Vet and he has Diabetes. We don't know what type yet, but cats are pretty much like we are.

Right now he gets 1/2 a tab of 10 mg Glipyzide (Sp?) . Just as adults who are diabetic do.

Bert is very important to me because I "kitnapped" or "catnapped" him away from some folks who were waiting on him up north. Short story: He was gonna be relay/transported to Maine from GA in 2005, but was given to me to "foster-socialize". He and I bonded and the rest is history.

I had not remarried my Ma-Dondra at that time, so he was my pal and when we did get remarried he moved in with us.

Anyway, he's lost weight, a lot of his coat and we are no longer feeding him dry food. If you have a cat, stay away from dry food and feed them what their carnivority needs: meat.

Anyway heeeeeeeere's....... Bertie

You had a cat that made it to age 21, dino????? Holy Cow! Isn't that some kind of record? Good Lord, you must have had to nurse him 24-7.

Thanks for the compliment on Bert! smile

Healthy cats can go awhile!  My last cat outlived TWO dogs, and there was only about 5 years of overlap in the dogs' tenure with us.  No sooner did I have that gato in the ground and another wandered in and made himself at home.  We called him "Not" as in not our cat, until he showed up with a collar with his real name on it, and a phone number.  He eats real good wandering through the area, and gets plenty of real meat judging from the carcasses he leaves around

Bertie is a fine looking feline, Bill! We have had cats for a few years now and we love them. Our girls Purdy and Luna keep us amused with their antics and also bring us quite a few little gifts in the form of small mammals. Mrs Norm is not quite so amused by the gifts...
