Topic: Pajama Girl

This song was written after talking to a friend about his daughter, who is unemployed and not looking too hard for work.

Pajama Girl
Verse 1
[A] She’s on the couch eating chips, TV remote in hand
[D] She looks at me with bloodshot eyes
[A] It’s more than I can stand
[E] There must be something she could do
[D] She never leaves the house
[A] She sleeps till lunch and then gets up, and all she does is grouse

Chorus
[A] Pajama girl. . . [D] Pajama girl . . . [A] Pajama girl . . .
[E] Pajama girl, [D] Pajama girl, [A] Pajama girl

Verse 2
[A] Work is just a dirty word and she would rather linger
[D] Her room's a mess, and there's nothing's done
[A] She’ll never lift a finger
[E] Someone out there wants her, but we will never see
[A] All day long she stays at home and watches that TV

Chorus
[A] Pajama girl . . . [D] Pajama girl . . . [A] Pajama girl . . .
[E] Pajama girl, [D] Pajama girl, [A] Pajama girl

Re: Pajama Girl

Never thought of the ukulele as a serious instrument until this tune. A fine tune with great inspiration! Does she know you wrote it about her? wink If not, play it for her Dad. smile

Edited To Add: Is it okay to make a small suggestion or 2?

"Her room's a mess, and nothing's done...."   or "........ there's nothing done".... (I took out one syllable. I played it for myself and it just came out that way)

"Someone out there wants her, but that may never be,

'Cause all day long she stays at home and watches that tv."

Just changed/added/deleted a couple of words. I hope it's okay. It's a damn cute song and it shows your flair for satire, Beestie

I hope I'm still in your good graces? smile

Re: Pajama Girl

Thanks Strummerboy Bill, the whole point of me posting here is to get feedback. I must admit I enjoy writing the funny songs. I find that the words tend to change slightly every time I play it. I'm only really doing it for the shear fun of it. I don't take it too seriously.
