Topic: A song about depression and my first post
Winston Churchill referred to his depression as the Black Dog.
The Black Dog
Intro [Am] [E7] [Dm] [E7]
[F] The [Am] black dog he comes visiting most [E7] mornings at two
[Dm] I lie in bed wondering [E7] just what I should do
[F] The hurtful comment, without thought is [E7] playing on my mind
[Dm] Though it was never meant [E7] to sound so unkind
[Am] [E7] [Dm] [E7]
[Am] I lay in my bed with ideas [E7] running through my head
[Dm] I know that in the morning that my [Am] dreams will all be dead
[F] I think of times when life was fun [Am] of walking on the beach
[Dm] loves lost and chances missed, [E7] now all out of reach
[Dm] Another grey day, just more the same [Am] the black dog he has come
[Dm] He hunts me down, jumps on me and takes out all the [E7] fun
[Dm] I am getting older and {Am] losing the fight
[E7] I need some help, a kind word to help me though the [Am] night.
Feel free to comment, I'm not too happy with "takes out all the fun"
Cheers Steve
