Here's one I call Hippie Anthem.
I grew up in the Hippie counterculture in the 1960s.
Wrote a song to celebrate those times:

As an ageing hippie myself I just love the sentiment, a great song and the still photos bring back many memories of happier, simpler times.
Thanks.
great song and recording, must say i was also captivated by the video...well done on all counts
phill
I agree with Phill, this is very well done. Nice voice, nice playing, great changes through the song - but I too found myself locked into the video. I kept thinking three things: 1) wonder what all those people shown are doing now and what would they say to me if they saw their picture ? 2) Am I gonna see someone I recognize ? 3) Whatever ended that hippie culture ? ( my guess is they needed to get jobs eventually)
I really enjoyed watching this - about 5 different times so far.
Thanks for sharing
Jim
thats exactly what i thought, what would they say if they could see themselves? you could always ask keith richards..lol you know what they say; if you can remember the 60's you weren't really there.... thats garbage of course. i was a hippy (weekender) and i never took any mind altering substances, the craik was enough to get me high (not crack)
answer to Q3, some dickhead came up with punk...then it all went down hill. no brains no skill no talent, IMHO (i've always wanted to write that)
You captured the change beautifully. Brought me back
Far out, brother! I really dig this song!
I shall not speak to others' comments...
I'd like to forward this to my local college radio station, KSCL.
If they wanted to play it, is that okay with you?
Otherwise, I'll just leave it alone.
Good job.
You got a clean recording, and still maintained the rawness, which I particularly embrace.
Your hippie anthem is really groovy, man, and listening to it was a real gas! Seriously ... good job! For me the ultimate Hippie Anthem is "Woodstock" by Crosby, Stills and Nash:
