Topic: Headphones delay
Hi Guys
I've been getting delayed sound output from headphones when playing my guitar but not through my amp and speakers. Both run through my PC. It seems to be connected with the path to the headphones.
Any ideas?

would the lead to the h.p be too long??
There is a free program called ASIO4all that deals with latency which is what I think your dealing with
+1 For Russell's advice. Sounds like latency to me also.
Thanks for the info guys.

That's latency by definition. The question is, where in your signal chain is it being introduced? Are you running the guitar through any software? An amp sim? How are you integrating the guitar and the computer?
Rus's suggestion to use AISO4ALL is a good one for anyone using a Windows machine. It's a bit more confusing, but it is vastly superior to the default software audio drivers that ship with Windows.
I think it's the soundcard on the new PC I'm using.
This wasn't a problem on my old PC with a different soundcard all the rest of the kit is the same.

Are you monitoring from the input side of the signal chain or the output side. Latency for live work is usually because you're running the signal through a bunch of effects and monitoring that, rather than just monitoring the input before it gets to the effects.
