Topic: Unexpected NGD

I was wandering  around  Lancaster  today  when in the Cash converter  shop (pawn shop)  I  spotted  a  nice looking  LAG tramontane  acoustic guitar  with  a  silly  low  price tag on it  so I  made  a  quick  call  to my  band mate  Brian who  has a  similar  guitar  to  find out  what  it  was  worth . A short  test  and  I  now  have  a  nice new to me  guitar   lovely  tone  in almost  mint  condition  (one little tiny  mark  on the head stock )

Re: Unexpected NGD

Lucky you Grah, all I ever found was a resonator on a market stall in Loughborough. A quick check on the internet and I found I could buy it cheaper and brand new. Good luck with it Grah, I'm sure you'll both be very happy together.

Excellent!  Happy NGD.

I used to fast on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.  One year, I had just started a new job and received the first invitation to come join some of the fellows for a drink after work.  So I went and had a couple beers on an empty stomach.  Bad choice.  So that I could sober up before going home, I shopped a bit at a pawn shop and in my appropriately disinhibited state purchased a bass guitar.  Turned out it was a heck of a deal - because it needed some work.  But I did the work and have a real workhorse of a classic bass for $125 at the pawn shop and a couple hundred in parts spread over the course of several years.  Then I took up guitar and the poor things been gathering dust.

Re: Unexpected NGD

Congrats Grah.  Which model LAG is it? I bought a used Tramontane  T-100DCE Stage a few months ago and it has become a favorite. (Its the ax I plan to take to Chordiestock) Mine is an older model that was made in France instead of overseas, but I've played some of the new Chinese-made ones at my local music store and they are all very well made.  I really like the mahogany/cedar combination on mine and have been checking ebay for a LAG rosewood/cedar in the auditorium size.
