Nothing rhymes

Am
I’ve written a song
               G
But the words don’t rhyme
D
Maybe you like it
Am
Maybe you don’t
Am
It might have a chorus
     G
It might have a hook
      D                         Am
It could be a song that you all want to sing
      C
For sure there’s a method
  G
When you write the word
  Am
I'm changing the structure
    G
To just buck the trend
Am
This is the last line, this is the finish
   D
I hope that you liked it
                      Am
Enough to applaud

Am
The chords are all messed up
      G
The progression is wrong
       D
But who makes the rules
  Am
To say what is right
      Am                           G
Maybe I just hear things different from you
        D                                        Am
But every ones opinion is just as valid
  C
For sure there’s a method
           G
When you write the word
  Am
I'm changing the structure
    G
To just buck the trend
Am
This is the last line, this is the finish
   D
I hope that you liked it
                      Am
Enough to applaud

Re: Nothing rhymes

hahahaha   Good one Graham

there were a couple of places of anticipated obvious  rhyme that would fit, but you didn't which made it great! Kudos to you and your wife !!

Re: Nothing rhymes

Thanks  guys  Pam keeps  saying  I  rhyme to much,   but  I  tend  to  like  rhymes  as  they  stick in your  head  but  this  was a lot  of  fun to  do .I  might  play it  live  in my  set   at  the Lass o Gowrie in Manchester  on Sunday  night .

Re: Nothing rhymes

Paul Simon uses different types of "rhyming" here and there, which often involves similar sounding syllables, or alliteration.

"There were incidents and accidents" (You Can Call Me Al)

"The boy in the bubble and the baby with the baboon heart" (Boy in the Bubble)

Very creative stuff, and fun to sing also.
