I own a Parker PDF105. I have only had it a couple months but it has become my go to favorite.
I mostly play at home and for friends.
I like the neck profile(shredder neck thin, think Ibanez RG), the light weight(5.6lbs), the acoustic sound from the piezoelectric pups, and a vibrato, locking Sperzel tuners, it has everything I need, too bad I don't play very well. It has helped me improve since it is very easy to play for long periods.
The U.S. made Parkers go for thousands, the imports for $5-700usd. Most U.S. made Parkers are wrapped on the back with heat bonded carbon fiber from the headstock including the entire back of the body, usually also with a carbon fiber finger board and SS fret wire glued in place.
Think fast bendable strings.
They are really fantastic light guitars with huge sustain even without electronics. No midi etc add on etc for imports just piezo.
Many are stereo, with Midi output and sustainiac technology. Most weight less than 6 lbs! Yes!
They are hard to find and demo, and are relatively expensive but the new imports are cheaper than used big brand names, unique looking and fun to play. My mag pups needed fine tuning/tweaking but setup was fine action low with no neck issues.
So easy on the back and fingers it's almost like cheating.
My hand doesn't ache after an evening of playing.
A big con is that they require a 9v battery for the active piezo pups which I don't like to buy or have to keep on hand. That is the only problem.
Ones without piezoelectric don't have a battery of course.
Best deals are used off ebay etc.
I sound like an ad man for Parker but I'm not, I am really happy with the guitar even though they are hard to find. I was lucky enough to find a U.S. made one to try locally before I bought the import model. For me the imports are the best deal.
