Topic: Gotta build another guitar

I have an extra maple neck with Fender locking tuners, it is new and I was looking for a body and came across this on Guitarfettish for $79.95 I absolutely love the color, I also have and extra Wilkerson tremolo and spare pots and caps so the wiring is no problem but I will need to get a pick guard and some pickups,screws but that's about it. I love tinkering with guitars and I decided to build another. smile

Thanks guys, one of my students dropped by and gave me a Christmas present 2 very sturdy guitar stands for when I practice or record and 3 pickups from his Fender Strat he had new hot coils installed so all I need is a pickguard and jack plug and screws and I am good to go smile

I ordered it this evening, on an unrelated item I took my blue strat neck off and the bridge and tinkered with the string height adjusting the tress rod, springs and saddles after about 4 hours I finely hit the right combination that is low and fast and no buzz I also put on my older rosewood neck and it made all the difference that is why I have a new maple neck to put on my new build. Unlike my other Strat with single coils this one is the HSS two single coils and a double coil humbucking pickup and the tone variations are very nice some adjusting to the intonation was necessary to have the harmonics equally in tune all the way up the neck the height above the fretboard is less then a credit card and no buzz just FAST smile

Russell I looked at musicans friend and sweetwater this morning and one of them had a sale on stands for about $5.00. The more I see that color the more I like it,reminds me of a green they used on cars in the sixties.

That is a good deal they come in handy especially when practicing or recording, I have never seen a guitar with this color of green cars yes I am thinking about a mint green pickguard and gold hardware that would be a hot combo. smile

You re going to need to put up wall board so you can hang the guitars 3 deep and sideways like the music store LOLOLOL  big_smile

beamer don't think I will get that many but you never know to me a guitar is a voice with strings but it don't hurt to have a pretty face to go with it smile

Nice work man ! 

You mentioned www.guitarfettish.com  - I went there -- some of their guitars look great, and like all sellers - the descriptions sound great as well. .  I was especially looking at the hollowbody guitars.   Do you have any experience or knowledge regarding the quality of the Xaviere guitars they sell ?

Jim the Xaviere line is high quality I use there strings in fact everything I buy from guitarfettish is top notch, another good source for inexpensive and quality guitars is Rondo music where I purchased my Douglass.

The big question about your new project is ... what kind of pickups are you planning for it? I recall you put the hot Texas ones in your last one; got something different in mind for the emerald one?

I plan on swapping the hot coils from my white one and installing Fender pickups I got them free I know it sounds crazy but I removed all the gold hardware and replaced it with chrome the gold hardware will look better on the new body with a mint green pickguard when I finish I will take some photos of both trust me they both will look hot, smile

I bought one for my son and I play the frets off it.  the finish is supurb,, it has not even needed set up out the box.  If I wanted to be picky,, a few frets need dressed, but otherwise the A/E sunburst is great and sounds great!
