Strumming pattern for Every Rose has it's thorn

Um its kind of crazy for the intro its like Down Up (extremely small rest) Down then hit the guitar with the side of your finger... (thats where that little click thumpy sound came from) I think he had a ring on int he video... anyway when you get into the actual verses its basically the same rythym but fill in the thump sound with another downstroke and give a small pause at then ends of each line.... lol  i guess thats probly the most useless non helpful comment ever but i learned the song by ear so im no expert
