Howard at the music shop I work at has decided to start a ukulele orchestra so I was forced into getting one (honestly I was really, really, REALLY forced 
).
As a soprano is a little small when used to a guitar, I opted to get a tenor:
....and as you can see from the label it was made in Portugal, the home of these instruments.
The only thing I do not like are the 'gold' fitting. They will shortly be changed.

Okay Roger, that is some nice looking Koa (even if it is on a toy guitar-wanna-be)..... checked out their website (and improved my understanding of the Portuguese language a little more, but Hablo Espanol which helps). But dang if they don't make some purty instruments, starting at the bargain basement price of 500 Euros! I do hope your buddy gave you a serious break on the purchase.... or at least a really really easy payment plan.

Roger may be smarter than all of us,if the tax man is like ours they let you write off equipment and insterment's if you are getting paid too do work in the same field.
