Guitar chord forum - chordie → Electric → Help, my guitar is going to waste!
hey everyone,
ive been playing acoustic rythem for some time now and recently i just got a takamine acoustic/electric and i feel its not going to good use when in a amp! But i cant play any lead things to save my life, does anyone know of any good practaces i can do to get faster? Or any simple lead songs? <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_redface.gif" border=0 alt="Embarassed">

if you're on msn tonight, i'll send you an exercise or two that's meant to build speed up if that's what you're after.
it's called a 'galloping horse.' it's done with the Am chord and the other one with a G i think. the idea is to pick the chord pattern and build up faster and faster and it's supposed to sound like a galloping horse when you get to a certain speed. i'm not that great at it though, i need to practice! but i'll send them to you tonight, and if you keep at it i hope it helps your speed

Simple lead songs are ones like in my 'Got To Hurry' post where the pattern is repeated string down and then two frets down. Alot of basic rock'n'roll and jams are based round this but you don't tend to find them tabbed out too often.
