Topic: Our Secret

Our Secret.              Phill Williams. 7th January 2014.

I held out my hand when my mind set out screaming.
I don't ask for help `till I'm just about drowning.
I hate to feel weak, I am strong, I have courage.
Don't judge me, I beg, but my hand needs your holding.

They call me “aloof” for I don't need they're gossip.
They make up such lies and they think they are prophets.
They put people down, make them look fools and cretins.
They don't know I can see that they are the idiots.

Hold my hand, now. Hold my heart in your aura.
Hold my breath, shallow. Hold my thoughts in your manner.
Hold me, protect me. My life is your ward.
As you are my lover, my friend, and my sword.

I will protect you as you need protecting.
As I need support, give me all never ending.
I hold out my hand knowing you will receive it.
And there lies the secret. Discreet... yet, our secret.

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Phill

Thought some one ought to make the effort to comment!
I like your work keep it up,please keep them coming.
I recently wrote one called `Original ` it`s about the
lack of originality, lots of guitar players
& writers just repeating the same old stuff.
also put one here called `Think` which is similar thing.
Some bands have very original names it attracts me to give them a listen.

Re: Our Secret

hi EB. it's a sad fact that though our poems get hundreds of hits, very few members actually give a critique. when i first joined chordie, there were a group of like minded members that would read every word and give a friendly review and advice. we all became friends and i felt as if i was a part of a community. i chatted with people from all over the world, it was a great feeling. sadly i don't feel like that any more.

i've seen some terrific poems come up here and not one reply, it would be nice if people reading them would give, even a perfunctory "nice one" lets start a new trend?

thanks by the way for reading and leaving a comment.
