ok you all i wasnt going to reply to any of these messages  but i felt the need and i am really pretty bored right now, i am a working musician  thats how i make my liveing  i play out on a average 5 days a week  some times 6 days a week  i play in a house band at a very popular club  that on a off nite theres prob around 200 people  on a good nite prob around 500  anyways let me let you all in on a little secrect that took me awhile to figuire out its not about the song its not about oh will she like this song or not, the point that has been missed in every message on here is this if u want to impress the ladies build up ur songs learn to play every thing you hear  i myself play by ear  i prob know around 2000 songs but i have been playing for 33 years  here is my point guys if u play guitar and play it well leads intros and everything in between  even puting ur own style to it  but like i said if u play well the chicks will get wet  and you will hve plenty of chicks  to pick from trust me, my hints to you  is this , learn to write your own songs , learn every note on your guitar and know where it is and know how to apply scales  triads, and so on, learn the sound in your head b4 u ever play it so u know where to go  lets face it no chick wants to go out with a guitar player who sucks i personally  lived with a guitar in my hands for almost 3 years when i was learning how to play, learn to sing  and heres the key guys learn to sing in key, learn to play with feeling instead of just picking a note or instead of strumming a rythme  learn to make it a part of you  when you have  tooken your playing to this level doors begain to open in ur music, theres nothing in life that gets chicks then a guitar player  pulling off leads who can play any song at request if your just playing to get chicks i am sorry you will struggle with music  and songs make music part of ur life  and enjoy it  and then the blessings of the chick world will come to pass, practice practice practice i played when i first strted learning so much my fingers bleed  and i still keep playing but for me its a passion i love music and it has truly blessed my life pay your dues  play it well and trust me the chicks will come.  i hope i could help out b4 u know it you will have a bunch of hot little groupies  so stick with it and make them fingers bleed, learn everysong you can hear  and let the  party of rock n roll begain, ps just anther hint , after you learned everything that i have said practice  will drinking  shots beer and anything else yes it will effect your playing so build up your tollerance  nothing sucks worse then being so drunk you cant play also pace your self if your playing out and drinking i am onley a 3 shot guy in between sets enough for a small buzz but not enough i cant play! any ways peace out all, this is a very good site to get lyrics  i come here all the time to get words for songs i need to sing so like i said all you guitar gods out there learn to play the guitar well and u will get laid .

Please don't lough, but I found out that "Twilight Time" from the Platters with an easy but nice picking pattern (up and down) and with a corny voice pleases women. Ok, they always start loughing - but loughing is not a bad start ...

ur reply was a bit funny to me dont take music seriuos huh? i can already tell by that comment u dont play any gigs, what i have found to be true is this everyone who says dont take music seriuos  actually is saying that u suck at guitar, i play gigs all most every night know its my liveing so if i suck at playing how many people are going to come see the band play ? u know something people like u are a waste of my time and a waste of air  take some theory classes and learn some timeing and some scales and u might actually want to improve ur playing,anyways some of us on here do make a liveing at playing music so if u dont want to be seriuos stay in ur room and play to ur walls cause its people like u  who make musicians look bad.

                         Just a few words to Vampsfang, I don't think he makes guitarists everywhere sick, well at least he doesn't make me sick. I think he is saying an important point. Stop coming into this forum and picking at peoples posts. They haven't done anything to you. They were kind enough to lend Bryan a hand. All you seem to have done is criticize, not even constructively at that, just trying to make yourself look like a 'good guitarist' all you proved to me is that you lost your job because you played for a long time. In all fairness you may be a good guitarist but isn't this web site about improving people not talking about how you gave blood sweat and tears to learn scales and other things? The man who started this forum (all though i don't know him) sounds like he wants to learn <u>A</u> song <u>NOT</u> to play by ear or play to 200 people or on a good night 500 people like you made so clear that you can/do.


All that said and done, i would say the song...


i cant last a day without you - the carpenters


...is a great song and is only a few chords but sounds great. The strumming rythem comes instantly and theres lots of room to play around with solo and such.


Anyway, hope you get the girl mate.


P.S. (To Vampsfang) so you don't have to reply to this and talk about how much greater you are then me I'd just like to say I'm 15 still in school of course, the only lessons in music is my music GCSE class, I've been playing around one year and i cant play by ear or tune by ear or play harmonics. And even though I'm only a little kid, I can see you talk like a 10 year old with the amount of slang you use. I hope you try a lot harder when writing songs then you do when writing in a forum as your English is atrocious. <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_rolleyes.gif" border=0 alt="Rolling Eyes">

haha. yeah. i think you'll find i can play by ear and i am mastering the guitar very well thanks to great tuition and my own practice and by trial and error. i'm sure we're all getting on fine without your unneccessary comments

Vampsfang have you ever played with Keith Urban? Cause he's my favorite.
