Topic: a small story

this is a poem (rhyme) that i posted in poems, but the concensus seems to be for me to make it into a song, wah lah

A SMALL STORYUndefined

[A] IN A VERY SMALL HOUSE IN A VERY SMALL TOWN

LIVED A VERY SMALL MAN AND HIS NAME WAS BROWN

[D] THE STREET WAS SMALL AND HIS DOG WAS SMALL

BUT THE [E] MAN NEXT DOOR WAS VERY, VERY [A] TALL

[A] “MY NAME IS ED”, THE TALL MAN SAID

“BUT MY HOUSE IS SMALL, SO I BUMP MY HEAD”

“WELL [D] THAT’S A SHAME, MY NAME IS BROWN

IF [E] I CAN HELP, I WONT LET YOU [A] DOWN”

“WELL, THAT’S VERY KIND, MR BROWN”, SAID ED

“I NEED SOME HELP TO CARRY THIS BED…

THE [D] STAIRS ARE STEEP AND THE BED IS LONG

BUT [E] IF YOU HELP I’LL SING A [A] SONG”-(RIFF)

AND SO [A] ED AND BROWN BECAME BIG FRIENDS

AND THEY TALK EACH NIGHT AS THE LONG DAY ENDS

IN THE [D] LITTLE STREET IN A LITTLE TOWN

WHERE [E] ED SINGS SONGS FOR MR [A] BROWN

IN A LITTLE GARDEN IN THE SUMMER SUN

THEY SIT AND TALK AND SING THEIR SONGS

AND THEIR [D] WIVES ARE HAPPY TO SEE THE FRIENDS

AS THEY [E] CHAT ACROSS THE GARDEN [A] FENCE

ED HAS A SON, BROWN HAS ONE TOO

AND THEY PLAY TOGETHER, AS CHILDREN DO

NOW [D] ED LIKES HIS HOME THAT IS SO SMALL

HE STILL [E] BANGS HIS HEAD AS HE WALKS THROUGH THE [A] DOOR

AND [D] BROWN IS SETTLED WITH HIS WIFE AND CHILD

AND HIS [E] FRIEND NEXT DOOR IN THE LITTLE [A] TOWN

Hey Phill - Nice little song there. I like the real life fairy tale feel of it.

Re: a small story

Well done Phill. Sounds like a really fun song to play.

Live in the "now" - a contentment of the moment - the past is gone - the future doesn't exist - all we ever really have is now and it's always "now".

I have finally found happiness in my life.  Guitars, singing, beer and camping.  And they all intertwine wonderfully.

thanks pete

Re: a small story

This just proves my point that poem's are song's! Any poem can be made into a song if you have a melody to go with it!

A musician is someone with too much time on their hands! Thank god I'm a musician!!!

Re: a small story

That was very cool !   I wish I had a voice like yours - guitar well played as well.
