I ride my recumbent bicycle everyday - it is a great way to get around and get happy.  'Regular' upright bikes are often referred to as 'Wedgie Bikes' by recumbent riders (for painfully obvious reasons).

I [C]ride that crazy [G]bicycle, I'm locally re-[D]nowned.


I'll [G]pedal here and pedal there, ride wherever I [C]like . . . .


But [C]I won't do it [G]nosiree u-[D]pon a wedgie [G]bike.


My re-[C]cumbent bike is beautiful, comfortable and [G]sweet,


A [C]high-tech light re-[G]cliner zooming down the [D]street.


My re-[G]cumbent bike is sexy with looks that can't be [C]beat,


I [C]gave up wedgie [G]torture for an [D]ergonomic [G]seat.


I [G]settle in and lean right back, and wear a big old [C]smile . . . .


This [C]bike is made for [G]cruising mile after [D]mile.


I [G]gaze around, relax a bit, enjoy the scener-[C]y. . . .


The [C]world is such a [G]pretty place with-[D]out the big wed-[G]gie.


My re-[C]cumbent bike is beautiful, comfortable and [G]fast,



[C]Dreadful bodily [G]aches and pains are of the distant [D]past.


My re-[G]cumbent is efficient and riding is a [C]treat,


I [C]gave up wedgie [G]torture for an [D]ergonomic [G]seat.


I [G]raced the dreaded wedgie bikes oh way oh way back [C]when . . . .


The [C]day I got my [G]'bent is the day the fun be-[D]gan.


I can [G]ride for hours pushing hard and spin those miles a-[C]way . . . .


And [C]later on I [G]feel so good with no [D]wedgie-butt dis-[G]may.


My re-[C]cumbent bike is beautiful, comfortable and [G]sweet,

Hi James,

I have had good fun with "Wedgie Torture" today. I decided to play it as a Rock song and have been really belting it out, so much so the old voice was beginning to go.

I had a big grin on my face though, imagining what would happen if you dressed in black leathers, bombed down the road on it, and pulled up at a bikers' bar!!!

Great song as usual.

Thank you gentlemen!  I really enjoy riding my recumbent bicycle - I ride a Trek R200 and it is wonderful machine: 40 speeds of human-powered fun.  Here is a link to show what the bike looks like:

Nice bike! I have seen a few around in the UK (although not many) and none in Portugal. Perhaps I should get one and start a new trend here.

Hi again James,
This is becoming a habit! this song reminded me of 3 things?

Cycling to work a hundred years ago during a bus strike. The army lorries were on the route taking people to work. My lovely new handle bars got caught in the grid as the lorry passed. i was flipped onto the bonnet of the only other car on the road! Unfortunate sod.
Again cycling to work. I used to ride by Guinnesses Brewery. They had narrow tracks to bring the hops from the grain store to the brewing store! My front wheel got caught in the track and i was flipped over. I woman said " God Darlin you were lucky" One of the brewery men said  as he picked me up " Yes you were lucky alright! Lucky you wore your knickers!"  Cheeky Sod.!

Cycling with my lads on a summers day. One beside me on his bike, and the other in the seat attached to mine! Happy Days.

James Mc Cormick! give us a jaunt on that fancy Bike of yours? Id never be able for you!
