I'm in the North Ayrshire area if that's any good for you? I've only been playing around 12 months myself.
Send me a message if you're interested.
Craig.
Hi Craig,
I would be interested. Unfortunately things have changed since I posted. I am now heading to Dublin for a few months (work related).
So I will not be around. However I will let you know when I am back and maybe we can get together then.
Regards
David Grant
No probs. Just mail me and let me know.
Craig.
Evening guys, I'm in the Paisley area (no jokes please) so I'd be up for a bit of jamming....only been playing about a year+ too and usually just messing about on my own or for friends and family but it'd be good to bounce some things about with other folks.
What sort of things do you like playing?
What do I like playing?
You'd be better of asking me what I can play? Answer, not much!!
At the moment I've got Iggy And The Stooges, Oasis and Pink Floyd in the cooking pot along with the an assortment of riffs that I'm monkeying around with; White Stripes, U2, SLF, The Doors, Wolfmother, OCS, The Cure. Basicaly whatever my tutor gives me too learn at the moment.
What do you play yersel Bud_wiser?
Craig.
Similar sort of stuff to be honest. Like any beginner I play shedloads of Oasis, some Snow Patrol, Green Day, Travis, Robbie Williams (for the ladies....honest )bit of Stereophonic. Anything that's easy really, oh, some David Gray too.
Any use??
ok so robbie williams might be a big headed arrogant sort of guy that the women like but no need to be embarrassed. I actually like his songs and I am into heavy rock and punk music, ( and also country, folk and lots more but not usually pop crap)
I met a guy that done a few of his songs and done them on an acoustic and they sounded great, apart from angels, he was bad at that.
Also I know another guy that plays ...... wait for it...... rowan keaton.!!!!! when I first heard I thought oh no, please no a rowan song, but now I think they are great, I just wont listen to rowan doing them,
you can take any song from any artist and play it, even the really bad artists do good songs even if they need changed a little to suit yourself.
You two should get together and have a jam, see where it goes.
I only Jam with a couple of guys now and play in bothies to people and the very occasional time in a pub.
A pub, yeah two of you meet at nova scotia bar at the trongate, they have open days and nights for music.
Ken
Meeting up in the pub sounds like a good idea to me Bud_wiser, what do ye think? I'm a wee bit pushed for time today but I'll try and log on Monday or Tuesday and I'll mail you, maybe sort something out?
Never knew about the Nova Scotia bar Ken, what nights are the open mic ones? Not that I would be venturing near the stage mind ye!!
Craig.
there is no stage Craig, it is a tiny wee pub and I think the open mic is always in there, whenever someone feels like playing they play, lol. But there will be a set day probably that a few meet up and have jams in there.
But I hear there are a lot of really good open mic nights , wednesday being one but canny remember what pub, should be easy to find on a search on the net I would think.
Ken
Aye, that doesn't sound too bad, catching up in the pub I mean. The thought of an open mic night is almost enough to lead to a involuntary nappy filling moment at this stage. Bad enough playing to friends and family. The world doesn't need to hear my Robbie Williams repertoire just yet
I'm really short on time at the moment but pm me or we can catch up on MSN and sort something out.
Cheers,
Mark
