Re: Not the hammer

Expanding your repertoir.  That's a good thing.

I have finally found happiness in my life.  Guitars, singing, beer and camping.  And they all intertwine wonderfully.

Re: Not the hammer

Your guitars don't play rock songs, the other guys played rock songs on your guitar. There is no set thing that one guitar is for and another is not.

Keep Rockin!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Not the hammer

It's always fun to play music on instruments for which the tune wasn't originally written. Some of the best rock songs have been given new life when the original artists create "unplugged" versions. A personal favorite example is David Gilmour's unplugged version of "High Hopes" from Pink Floyd's "Division Bell" album ... and there are many more.

Re: Not the hammer

Hang out with the guys more and get them to show you. Some of the magic will rub off.  Best I have ever played was with a few guys who were great players, they just would show me  a tune and then Idd follow along. If I got lost I wpuld signal one of them and he would get me back on track.
