Topic: Blues artists list

I found this recently and can't get enough of it. I think I'm only on number 14. The awesomeness of the guys on this list is unmeasurable. There aren't any links to click so I've just been looking them up on Youtube. Great stuff!!!!!

Re: Blues artists list

Pretty cool.  Thanks for sharing.

I WAS going to rant and rail about the list having zero credibility because Robert Johnson was "ranked" as #45, but then I realized the list is in alphabetical order.

I mean, the site IS called "ranker", after all.  smile

That list excludes Sonny Terry,Brownie Magee,Lightnin Hopkins,Long gone miles if they aint blues I dont know what is.
I had the pleasure of meeting Long gone Miles in Venice Califorina along with Sonny Terry,Brownie Mcgee, Lightnin Hopkins and the Chambers Bros.I jammed at few parties and got to hang out with these blues legends it was a very enlightining time in my life. this is (long gone miles) singing some blues.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sgq_iXckVnY
one other thing I would like to mention, when I was in my early twenties I played in a few strip clubs with a guy on a hammond B3 and a drummer got my education early smile

Re: Blues artists list

I got to meet Anson Funderburg, Sam Myers, and Matt "Guitar" Murphy on my 30th birthday.  They dropped by my table at a restaurant to chat with my companion, and he introduced them.  I was introduced to Anson Funderburg and Matt "Guitar" Murphy as a harp player, and to Sam Myers as a bass man.  "Baby Blues Man" was the name I was given.  I should have used that as my screen name here, but people actually call me Zurf.

The link I posted was for Delta Blues. If you do a search you can find who you're looking for. Here's a list for Best Blues artists of all time.
