Topic: john entwistle

i was just watching the who on tv, an old video where they performed "tommy" and "quadrophenia". john entwistle played a bass guitar solo that rocked my socks off! such a shame he's no longer with us.

i knew he was a super bassist, i played bass in several bands but always preferred simple licks, he just has "crazy flipper fingers" i wonder if he left them to science?

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Re: john entwistle

I know what you mean about John.  I've had this video bookmarked for years.

Some mighty fine work going on, especially between 1:20 and 2:00.

Re: john entwistle

The Who were the ultimate Rock Band -  Entwistle's Bass, Moon's drums,  Roger Daltrey's powerful vocals and of course Townshend's playing, writing and overall musicianship made them the best pure rock band of all time - name a band with better individual and overall talent - there are none. More than The Beatles and The Stones, The Who defined what Rock and Roll should sound like. (Can you tell I am a fan?)
