Topic: HELP! I dont know how to read strum patterns and what not!

I've tried to look it up a bunch of times, but I never find expls. about what the symbols mean tongue any help is appreciated please!

I'm guessing you're asking about D U.

D = down strum
U = up strum

Not sure about the "what not"

Learning from written strum patterns is not that easy. The best way is to watch video covers of the song you are learning on YouTube. I think this is a better method. You will fing there are many different patterns that are used for any given song and you can pick the one that is easier for you. It works.

Spytunes (another great web site BTW) has some strum exercises. 
Check out the Practice Guitar section for strumming patterns and more...
