Topic: Toots?
I have been watching the hurricane and I was wondering if anyone has heard from toot's? Last I heard he was living on a boat in New Orleans.

Toots is in Alabama (near Mobile, I think)- not New Orleans. I'm sure they got pounded to, but he's got family close and is a smart old sailor, so I'd bet he is in good shape. That said, I'd sure like to hear from him personally also.
thanks for the info topdown, and yes it would be nice too see him posting again.
He posted on Facebook. So either he's still breathing and got a few moments of internet access, or someone with his sense of humor has hacked his account.
UM.... what about our buddy NELA?
amy I have not seen Nela around for awile either.
I will try to call NELA later today and report back.
NELA and his home came through the storm fine, however he has just gotten over a case of Bronchial Pneumonia. Now he has a cold. Sounds like the cold is the worse of the two. He is working farther south of me than he was.
thanks for the update deadstring
Many thanks for the update deadstring! I've been taking calls from Lousianna for work. First and foremost I want to say, I am AMAZED at how kind these people are. Faced with damaging storms, power outages for days on end in 90 degree weather, no cable service and no specific date or time when they can expect it back on, they are STILL SO KIND on the phone! Those that have had service, suddenly have their service shut off (likely a temporary disruption to allow repairs, but temporary could last hours or another day as lines are repaired) they are still SO KIND. Several of us were chatting last night, how pleasureable it was to take calls from the area instead of... lets say... Rhode Island area as an example (nothing against Rhode Islanders, just that in general they are very loud and enjoy swearing at tech support, refusing to take the only answer I have available, and blaming me personally for thier issues rather than the "thank you Maam" I get from those in New Orleans- I do love listening to them yell at each other though. Those Rhode Islanders are quite comical).
Anyhow... my point is, many had power out starting Tuesday and some are still without power and ultimately all utilities that go along with having power. So, my thoughts are surely with NELA and his family as well of course as some super awesome good thoughts for the quick recovery of his current illness. I wish I could send him some chicken soup, although I have a feeling with the kindness of folks in that area that he's probably already got 3 pots of it brought to his doorstep.
Add Mississippi along with Louisiana, I am still working in west Texas and most all the folks I am working with are from Miss. or Louis. and they are great people. They work the same schedule as I do 14 days on and 14 off, so they are away from home alot. Luckily all were able to stay in contact with loved ones and kept on working.
I am the oldest man on location and the well site Supervisor and they are the most respectful folks I have ever worked with.
Louisiana. We'll treat you so many ways you'll have to like some of them. Actually I am a transplanted Delawarian. I wasn't born in Louisiana but I got here as fast as I could.
