Guitar chord forum - chordie → Acoustic → New Person who doesn't understand the TABS!! help!!
Ive just started playing the guitar about 2 months ago...i know the basic chords G, A, C ,D and E i thought i was going somewhere but then i stumbled on this site and discovered the TABS maybe im not focusing enough but i just can't seem to understand the concept can someone help me?? Thx in advance 
the numbers represent the frets - this is how many frets down you push the string.
The order of the numbers is the strings.
first number is your thinnest string
second number is the slightly thicker string
and so on
zeros mean you don't put a finger on that string
thus G looks like

when you see lots of lines and numbers, this is the same idea as the replies.
the number represent the fret to play as single notes, and on what string ( the lines are the strings)
Some of these though are not singlenotes ad will be put down like the previous replies as a chord.You should be able to tell what is a chord andwhat is not wit hthe help of a chord aide such as.
