Topic: Children's guitar course

I have retired and live in Nicaragua, the second poorest country in Central America.  I stumbled across 10 three quarter sized, nylon string guitars, and picked them up from a local shop.
I want to locate a children's teaching course and teach beginning guitar at the local school.  First and second graders.
Can anyone direct me to a resource for beginning instructors, as well as beginning students?
Muchicimas gracias!!

Props to you workout!! - I know when I first took lessons back in the early '70's Mel Bay books were the lessons of choice (and they still are available). Justin Sandercoe also offers a great free beginners course on line.

Welcome to the forums Workout!!!!

I commend you for taking on the task of teaching ones so young. That's a little too young for me to sit down with.

+1 on Justinguitar. While it may not be a children's course, he starts off with the basics as any other would. Just take it slow with the youngsters.

Good luck!!!!

Re: Children's guitar course

Thanks for all responses.  I'll continue to tak a look on beginner courses.  Early plans are to teach notes, tuning, a few scales, then 3 chords (G,C,D) that fit into a few well known Spanglish songs...
If the kids can learn the chords and make an attempt to memorize the songs, the guitars will be theirs at the end of year.
Let me know if you have any other resources.
