PINK MOON (Nick Drake)
by moonlight of course
Trust me his catalog if full of gems that is a little off the beaten path but right on the mark.
If not, then anything by (David Gray).
the one I love, sail away with me, flame turnes blue
If you really want her to be impressed, play in arpeggios "Ice Cream by (Sarah Mclachlan)
Just don't practice around your buddies if you want to keep your reputation.
She will melt like butter.
John mayer & all those MTV cronies are just too predictable and overplayed.
hey this is coming from a girl the best way to impress your girlfriend is by expressing your feelings for her, sure other songs are ok, but it is the most romantic thing in the world for your guy to sing a song to you that he made up!!
Are you saying to pull a Adam Sandler?
Eric Clapton's Easy Now worked for me back in the day
you can find it here on chordie
My thoughts....
TWO things....
First, if you can write/compose your own song, DO IT! It will impress the hell outta her! But FIRST....
Play "You are so beautiful" from Joe Cocker. It is incredibly simple to play, sing, and impresses the pants off any girl, if you can get the nerve to get up on stage in a pub somewhere and sing it out to her in public. Then, becos it is a very short song, (and very hard to do badly), segue into your own song.... with words like "Here's a song from my heart, because you put one there!" Corny as heck, I know, but I can almost guarantee that if you can pull it off, you WILL get it on!
Do it with sincerity dude.... and your efforts will be rewarded.
Good luck!
The Maverick
from a girls point of view, i fall over for "Making Memories of Us" keith urban. other great ones are "Longer", dan fogelberg. "my love",paul mccartney,"if",bread,"amazing" lonestar,
"hello" by Lionel Richie, "jealous guy" by Jhon Lenon, "You and I" by Scorpion, if it is posible then "I m ready" by Bryan Adams.."Hero" by Inrique Eglesis,
If you want my body & you thik I'm sexy
-Rod Stewart
Try she is love by Oasis . It's a good one
Try "Daisy a Day" by Judd Strunk and Roy Clark. Truly a love song. Easy to play.
....Badeye.
A great song is "Just the way you are" by Billy Joel. It is fairly easy and women dig it.
Eddie
Ray LaMontagne - Hold You In My Arms
I LOVE this guy! He sounds old-school, but he's actually a new artist! Seriously, his stuff sounds like a classic, but it's new! He's got quite a few really good songs. This one sounds like it would be easy to sing, too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTmUJ8mp7pU - not a great video, but the only one I could find.
However, if you decide you want to propose to this girl, I have the PERFECT song for you....
Question by the Old 97's
Here's a video of a guy playing this song on acoustic...it's not the original, but it'll do. It seems I like music that it's hard to find videos for...lol: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHbHZkIjCnc
As far as more popular stuff...not sure how difficult these are to play, but....
LifeHouse - You and Me (what girl wouldn't love a line like, "And I don't know why, but I can't take my eyes off you".
Mazzy Star - Fade Into You (okay, so a chick sings it,...but it's the easiest song in the world to play and it's sexy!)
Joshua Radin (w/ Schuyler Fisk) - Paperweight ("Mess up my bed with me...kick off the covers...I'm waiting" - okay, maybe not...she might get the wrong idea...lol)
Dashboard Confessionals - Hands Down (I love this one)
John Mayer - Love Song For No One (and then finish it by saying....thank you for finally coming along...okay, too cheesy?)
Sting - Fields of Gold (I've always thought this song was sexy)
And this is country, but it would melt my heart...
James Bonamy - I Don't Think I Will
Hmmm....I could do this all night, so I think I will stop. Hope you found a song for your girl! ;-)
Oh man, I forgot this one and can't even believe I'm going to suggest it...but there's always James Blunt's 'You're Beautiful'
How about "Your in my Heart" by Rod Stewart or "Your My Best Friend" by Queen. Just a couple more.
....Badeye.
Beautiful -- Gordon Lightfoot
My Sweet Lady -- John Denver
Something in the way she moves -- James Taylor
OK, I'm getting in on this late...just joined.
Stay away from Hot Legs & Stay with Me by Rod Stewart...definitely not good.
I'd go with More than Words...who did that...Extreme? is that right? Fun song to pick.
And an oldie, but packs a punch, a little "Unchained Melody" is a winner...good luck singing along...but, this from a guy who can't sing.
"I cross my heart" by George Strait. Worked for me! Wear a cowboy hat!
HOLD EVERYTHING! I got it! The best ever! "I can't help falling in love" by ELVIS! Easy to play! Easy to sing! Can't be beat! Somebody top that! I dare ya! lol
Well if you're into Country, Josh Turner's - I'm Your Man
Hi 25 Frankster,
I couldn't agree more! "Unchained Melody" is my favourite song of all time! Still have the orignal album {lP}
That song still makes me cry all these years later! My son gave me the Smallest music box ive ever seen the other day and it plays "Unchained Melody". Beautiful!
Old Doll.

Enjoy...
