Topic: How to move the chord images from the side to the bottom.

I love this website.  Transposing is so easy.  I am having a little problem with chord images.  In edit view in my songbook, the chord images sow up across the bottom of the page which is great except that I need to transpose the music.  When I select the song title it automatically remembers the transposition I saved to the songbook, but it changes the chord image position to the side and then the images cover the words of part of the first verse.  Is there some way to get the chord images back on the bottom of the page?
Thanks so much.

Re: How to move the chord images from the side to the bottom.

When viewing, the chords are always to the right but they project no further than the 'Transpose' and other boxes on the right, so it should not cause a problem. It is only when printing that you can select the position of the chords.

Perhaps it is your screen resolution that is causing the problem as we have had various difficulties caused by this in the past.

Maybe I wasn't clear.  The problem presents itself when I am printing.  I need to know how to select the position of the chords when I am printing.  Thank you for your response.  I hope to here from you again, very soon.

Re: How to move the chord images from the side to the bottom.

Hi clamccpias
You can alter the position of the chord grids on a transposed song in the same way as you would for an untransposed song.
You click on the song straight from your songbook in it's saved transposed view.
Then click on "print" which should be displayed on the right of the song.
The next screen gives you at the top right  the option in a drop down box to change the grid positions for printing.
If any part of the screen display is missing or not displaying right then it's usually the screen resolution needs adjusting or a problem with the browser..

Re: How to move the chord images from the side to the bottom.

I've been gone for a little bit and it looks like some major stuff has been going on at Chordie.  So I just transposed the song and tried to save it to my songbook, but it doesn't appear to have saved the transposed version.  What did I miss?

Re: How to move the chord images from the side to the bottom.

As usual, I haven't made myself clear.  I can see clearly now that moving the chord grids and changing the print size is done at print time as explained quite nicely by Roger with picrtures and arrows... Thank you, Roger.
Now I'm fuzzy on how to save it transposed into my Song Book.
I would like to be able to save the transposed version into my Song Book and then use chordie to further edit the song so as to fit my style of playing, change a few words and or chords, etc.  So far, I've not been able to save the transposed song into my SongBook although I have been successfull in printing out the transposed song with the chord grids where I want them and the print big enough to see.
Am I trying to do things in the right order?

Re: How to move the chord images from the side to the bottom.

I have just taken a song, transposed it from F to A and then saved it in one of my song books. On re-opening my songbook I do have the transposed version there, so it is working fine for me. Any editing that is wanted or required can then be performed in the songbook

Yes there is a new server and there have been some behind the scenes changes to the way that Chordie works which has presented a bug or two but they seem to be ironed out now.

If you are still having a problem then write to Per at admin@chordie.com giving precise details of your problem and information of your operating system and browser.

Re: How to move the chord images from the side to the bottom.

Thanks, Roger.  I wrote to admin@chordie.com.  I bit the bullet and just fixed all the chords on a version that at least had most of the chord positions in the same places I wanted mine.  Then I saved it.  I rearranged all my songs into Song Books which will be Chapters in my gig book.  I've been trying to print out only one song at a time as I correct them for my own use.  Is that not possible from my song books?  I've found a work around, but it sure would be easier if I could print one song at a time from my song books.  I also would love to be able to print the songs in my songbook out with larger print , but that doesn't seem to be happening, either.

Re: How to move the chord images from the side to the bottom.

If you  look on the right of any song you will see the print tag and when you click on it you will come to the page that I showed earlier to show how to move the position of the grids (chords). There are three capital "A's" of differing sizes. the larger one will increase the size of the print nd the smaller one decrease it. Click on the word 'print' to print the individual song.

Re: How to move the chord images from the side to the bottom.

Am I hitting report instead of post reply?  I'm sorry.  I think I'm getting it.  I was trying to use the print songbook button and only select a song instead of selecting the song and printing from there.  Thanks for hanging in with me while I learn the in's and out's.

My magic panacea is reboot and try again.

Re: How to move the chord images from the side to the bottom.

A question that comes to mind:
"My Songbook" is a chordie thing.  My "practice ones" is something you have.  What are "practice ones?"  Is it possible that you "moved" your songs instead of "copying" them?
