I have a variation.  Sometimes I use one mic and sometimes two. This time I used two.

I bought this kit some time back after talking to Jerome.  He guided me quite a bit and is very knowledgeable. 
I also bought this after talking to him.

The mixer is USb and the mics plug into it.  It is really a pretty simple setup, even though I still don't know much about the settings on the mixer.
