What a beauty. Is that an ebony fretboard? Love the black on black.
I think it's just the ordinary rosewood fingerboard.
The body used to be sunburst until I had it re-sprayed <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_redface.gif" border=0 alt="Embarassed">
The last time I had it re-fretted I used Gibson fret-wire as it has a lower profile.
WOW <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_eek.gif" border=0 alt="Shocked"> WHAT A BEAUTIFUL GUITAR......
HOW MUCH IS IT WORTH?
1994 wine red Gibson Les Paul studio. Incredible sound and sustain, very very durable (I beat it to death), thick neck and fast fretboard, and nothing looks as cool as a low slung Les Paul. The factory electronics are fine, too, but I might upgrade the pickups eventually. The only drawback is that it weighs nearly 20 lbs. Doesn't sound bad to start but by the middle of the set, your shoulders are screaming at you! I also have a Black '99 mex built Tele standard. I'm waiting for my new GFS humbuckers to arrive so that I can give it a fatter sound.
those guitars are seriously B-E-A-UTIFUL!!! i really like the look of strats but unfortunately they were mass produced too much!!! still an awsome guitar!!! luvin it!!!!

Not as much as you would think.
I was a bit naughty <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_redface.gif" border=0 alt="Embarassed"> and I've been playing it for 30 odd years. Bits have worn out - 4 re-frets, a new nut, new tone and volume controls-well some of them, and the bridge pieces rusted out and had to be replaced.
Oh yes............it WAS sunburst until I got it re-sprayed.
Apart from that..........it's in nearly mint condition <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_cool.gif" border=0 alt="Cool"> <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_lol.gif" border=0 alt="Laughing">
oh.......and I still gig with it <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_thumbsup.gif" border=0 alt="Thumbs Up">
I like to buy players-grade guitars, not collectors-grade. Outside of me, probably few would find much value a beat-up Les Paul Studio... and no one would want my Tele.
my best guitar is my blood red 57 stratocaster
Mine is a rare martin guitar,Swdgt Great guitar, and my electric is a Les Paul Standard
I have played many guitars since I began playing.
Currently my favorites of which I own are;
-Fender Strat, with Texas Special Pickups, Reverse Tremlo, 13 gauge strings, and high action because I like to play slide with it
-Fender Strat, nothing special for lead & rythem
-SX 12 String, with Bronze Plated Strings
-Johnson Acoustic, with Nickel Plated Strings
-Martian & Co Acoustic, with Nylon Strings
-Gibson Les Paul, nothing interesting with this one
I am in love with the Eric Clapton and SRV Series Strats by Fender, I'm planning on buying both with in the next year or two.
I own roughly 45 guitars now, many of them I just have because they are collectors items.
For looks - any Rickenbacker guitar. They're amazing.
Sound- i dunno, i like the crisp sound of American Fender Stratocasters, or any Ibanez guitar.
Right now a Fender squire strat (chinese made) that a friend gave me. It was his son's originally tobacco sunburst in color. The son took a sander with course sand paper and made a mess of it.
It has an alder body and "c" shaped neck. I stripped it and finish sanded it, stained it wine red with a hand rubbed tung oil finish. I mounted a set of GSF 70's overwound pick up set, wired with two volume pods so I don't loose tone with a orange drop resistor and capacitor. The hard ware is all gold with a creme colored pearloid pick guard. It plays real sweet.
I am currently working on building a swamp ash body strat style guitar, hard tail. The body is analine blue dyed with Fender texas special pickups on a white pearloid pick guard.
Also in the works is an alder body strat style with a white stained body and a set of epiphone les paul pick up set (i mounted a Zakk wylde emg set in to a customers guitar and keep his pickups) on a cream white pick guard and an SG (still negoitating on getting the body from my brother in law). All volume & tone knobs are nurled type and match the hard ware. I don't know if you can tell but I am partial to perloid pick guards.
All guitar have sunken Jim Dunlop strap locks same color as the hard ware.
my favorite guitar is xtrex with 6 pickups!!!!!!!!!!!!!
my favorite is a beat up yamaha acoustic and on the electric side is another beat up guitar that i call the mongrel, its pieced together from many guitars, the reason theyre my fave,is because pawn shops wont accept them which means i always have a gun in the house,YEA!
Washburn EA18TS acoustic/electric tobacco sunburst. Darn thing never goes out of tune...
