Topic: MAJOR JEALOUSY

My best friend has caused waves of jealousy to wash over me.

Today he found and purchased a Gibson Dove! for $1500.00 !!!!!!

He's now on his way over to pick up a Martin D48V for an amazing $5000.00!

Two guitars he could resale for 12-15000 easily. I'm green.

On a better note, we have a mutual friend that works for Martin Guitars. The two of them, in order to appease my jealousy somewhat, have arranged for me to purchase a Martin D35 for just under $2000.00, delivery at the end of September.
That will be an NGD to remember! When I get it, I will definitely post pictures here and share some of my jealousy with y'all!

First off, congrats to your friend, and to you.  The D35 is a great guitar.  I got mine in the summer of 2009 and I love it.

However, the $2000 price tag MIGHT be a deal and it might not.  If you do NOT get the Martin deluxe hardshell case with it, then it's comparable to Guitar Center's normal retail price and you might want to reconsider.

The regular list price for a new D35 at Guitar Center is $2300, and that includes the hardshell case which I think normally sells for around $250:

My point is that you might check with GC and see if they will have the D35 going on sale any time before you are scheduled to get yours.  If so, you might get a slightly better deal there.

If I had $6500 to spend on guitars, I'd have a heck of a fly fishing raft and trailer instead. 

It's nice that we live in a world where there's people with enough money to buy such wonderful instruments, because that way there's people willing to make them.

Nice too have that kind of money to spend,I only paid $4000 for my used ford taurus, so his guitars are worth more then it.
