Hi badeye,the man is totally awesome,so was the guy who played the harmonaca. I ran into my World globe the other day and remembered your Island,you are Almost to iceland and about half way too Great Briton. If you get a little time tell us what its like up there,I get cold looking at the area. Is fishing the big moneymaker up there?

Hey there Dino, yep fishing has been here for over 200 years, but our claim to fame is coal mining, since 1720 when the french built The Fortress of Louisburg, the settlers found coal in the cliffs outcropping from the sea, in the heyday of coal there were more than 20 different mines in Cape
Breton. the last mines closed in the mid 1980's but fishing continues. A good percentage of Islanders leave for Alberta in western Canada for work in the oil sands. Coal was king for many years and most familys were brought up on coal and lots of bread and mollasses, coal miners had a tough go, little pay, harsh conditions down under the ground, my dad worked the mines for 44 years and had many health issues, first songs I learned on guitar were coal mining tune in his honour. Anyway nice chattin to you and leave you with a little tune about our island in the gulf stream....

Another good one badeye,sometimes I wonder about all the guys back then regarding why they are Blind or calling themselfs Blind something. Maybe it was because of Health problems then.

That was really cool,looked like somewhere in the 30"s , did you listen too voodoo woman you can really hear rock in rolls beginnings in it!! I liked what one of the posts said, " The blues had a baby and named it Rock and Roll "
