Topic: Songbook in MS-Word Format

For anyone who might be interested, I've made a 600+ Songbook in easily editable MS-Word format.  You can find it at http://songbook19.my-free.website/   (I'm not trying to sell anyone anything - the website is just a delivery mechanism.)

Re: Songbook in MS-Word Format

I've had a few requests to include an artist index.  Done.  - A.T.

Re: Songbook in MS-Word Format

Just wanted to let anyone who has visited my personal website in the last 6 years and downloaded a version of Songbook that I'm in the middle of what I'm calling "The Grand Revision," revisiting all 600+ songs and adding things like intro's and instrumental bridge work and such.  Really pleased with how it's going thus far (up through songs beginning with the letter "L" as of this posting).  I really encourage anyone who downloaded a previous version to have a look at the latest one.  I also added "Guitar Playing 101", also available in both MS-Word and PDF, which is a beginners guide to guitar and chords.  As always, I'm not trying to sell anything - just a hobbyist trying to share!  -- A.T.

Re: Songbook in MS-Word Format

Thanks - will there be any chance of a chordpro version? Then utilities like OnSong and SongSheet Generator can import them and change key, etc ....

Re: Songbook in MS-Word Format

Honestly, I had no idea what chordpro is until I just googled it (although I've seen it mentioned on various forums).  At first glance it doesn't look like it would be too difficult to make a chordpro version of my songbook, but it does look very time consuming.  But, time I have.  Kind of wish I'd taken that path in the beginning but my songbook predates '92 so chordpro wasn't around when I started down this rabbit hole.  I can't say it's priority for me at this point but perhaps I'll give it a whirl down the road.  Thanks for the suggestion though.

Re: Songbook in MS-Word Format

No problems - thanks for the book; you have a lot of songs that I know and will be adding to my songlist smile

Compliments on what looks like a tough job. I took a look and found a number of tunes as well, and I also appreciate it the tutorials.

Thank you, Songbook19 for your efforts, and WELCOME!

Re: Songbook in MS-Word Format

BTW: I wrote an on-line chord generator which is here:

http://neophytte.mine.nu/chord/

It generates pictures which can be posted in MS Word for a lot of different chord shapes, and you can change the number of strings and the tunings etc ...

Cheers
