Topic: copyrights????

i just got my own recording system and would like to record songs that i have done over the years where can i find out witch song i can use without paying for them

As a rule of thumb most songs after 1929 are undercopyright laws. The copyright office which you can access online has a list of most of the songs you can use royalty free.  Most of the royalty free stuff is going to be folk music.

I'd go ahead and record the covers if that's what you mean.
The worst that can happen if you put them up on You tube etc is they will remove them.
There must be millions out there on the web and I've not heard of any individual going down for recording one.
