Topic: Stars of Night
Stars of Night. Phill Williams.
The stars of night have found their breath.
And walk in mortals realm.
With teeth that blind in flash of arc.
Their victims overwhelm.
Attire is worn as battle shields.
“ Don't bother me, but I am here.
They are beauty; “but don't come near.
The giant image fades.
The stars of night from distance come.
Obscure they will appear.
To sit and drink with those alike.
And feast on tables round.
Some are called and all applaud.
Unprepared, yet still they talk.
False joy as they have lost their cause.
The giant image fades.
O! darkest night, the feast all done.
The creatures home return as one.
The world about has witnessed all.
A new day slowly dawns.
Gowns are copied; leave the rails.
Some ignored, their fashion failed.
Some ridiculed, lack fineness.
The giant image fades.
Giant gods upon a screen.
Look down upon the mortal land.
Worship not the idol god.
Lest reality will kill your dream.
The stars of night burn brightly, short.
Their words are written, cheaply bought.
Their fame is fleeting, comes to nought.
As the giant image fades.
