Re: Electric Or Acoustic?

Re: Electric Or Acoustic?
No!!!!!!!!
Everyone knows that you MUST MUST MUST learn accustic first! Then and only then, after years and years of practice can you "move on to" an electric!!! What kind of fool plays outside the box and does both?????? It's maddness!!!! MADDNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get back in your box people!!!!
Re: Electric Or Acoustic?
I have been learning guitar for about a week now and was in a situation where i could borrow an electric guitar or buy a mate's 6 month old acoustic. I tried both for a week and decided that id buy the acoustic off him. Glad i did now, Im finding it alot easier to learn with. Mistakes can be heard clearer in my view. Fingers are a tad sore at the moment but im sure this will pass as time goes by.
Re: Electric Or Acoustic?
dont worry if ur fingers hert,
but mine didnt, thats coz i didnt practice lots at first but now i practice all the time.
at my school my headteacher sez that we r privelidged 2 be playing an instument, and we have 2 practice 2 get better!
i no!!!!
y would i not want 2 practice, playing the giutar and the bass is cool!!
like the other day, at our school we have stupid self locking doors so if ur shut out some1 has 2 unlock it from the inside
the best bit about it is that if u get locked out you get 2 miss lessons YES!!!
but anyway i got locked out and every1 was just walking by not bothering 2 open the door.
but then this guy who i didnt even no came along and poened the door
i sed cheers and was walking off when he sed
remember i only did that coz u play the giutar
i felt really but my teacher was still but then she went
Re: Electric Or Acoustic?
it is best to start with an acoustic guitar because it gives finger strength which will inturn help you later on the electric....my dad didnt give me the electric until i had gotten the hang of the acoutic guitar...he was like ill know when u have been practicing really hard! i asked him how and he said when your finger tips harden...u all must be knowing that.....so he gave me the electric after a year i think....
so yes acoustic first and then electric but then agiain its your choice of what you wanna do.
Re: Electric Or Acoustic?
to me acoustic is way better. but i see why other people love electric
Re: Electric Or Acoustic?
I love acoustic-electrics...does this make me a heretic or an apostate?
Re: Electric Or Acoustic?
Hewilson,
It makes you a apostated heritic Does'nt matter what you play acoustic or electric so long as you pratice and play and become proficient.
Bootlegger.
Re: Electric Or Acoustic?
i think eletric is easeir to start with cause the strings are more thiner. i like eletric but i havent got 1 yet
Re: Electric Or Acoustic?
I got an electric for christmas which i love to play. I then bought my wife an electro acoustic which i also love to play. Does this make me cheap or nasty or self serving? I don't care, everyone should play guitar and then there would be no violence.
Re: Electric Or Acoustic?
Easier to pick up and play the acoustic when you only ave a few minutes to spare...
Best to have both if possible though...............
Re: Electric Or Acoustic?
all i play is my acoustic!! i play my electric occasionaly but when playing for people i prefer acoustic!
Re: Electric Or Acoustic?
Years ago, I played a 6- & a 12- Stringer Acoustics. Now (@ age 55) I own an Electric. But what I "Realize", is that I want Both Options , and so , have Located (on Net) : Acoustic-Electrics ... and now need to decide between : 12- Stringer or a 6- Stringer "Classical" Acoustic-Electrics. I believe my Choise will lean towards the "Classical". I AM enjoying the 'easy play action' of the (current) Electric's Strings. I can practice w/out getting the tenderness of fingertips. Truly, Electrics are easier to play. My "Opinion"/advise : I would urge all Newbies to Invest a.s.a.p. in an Acoustic-Electric ... and get the Best of Both Worlds. By-the-Way : Did y'all Know ? There's even 7- Stringer Electrics "out there " ??? WOW !!! (They are for "Heavy Metal".)
Re: Electric Or Acoustic?
Today, I finally found The Guitar I am UpGrading to. This particular "Box"is a "Vintage" Model, built back @ 1968 ; so, of course, I do not have to pay the extremely high $$ Dollars of a brand new "Box". What I decided upon, is Called : "Ventura" (maker), "Bruno #V24" (model). It is a 12-Str. Acoustic-Electric. Very Attractive, it has abalone ivy vines & leaves & an abalone hummingbird inlaid in its pickguard. Solid Wood Spruce top. Rosy-toned back in color. Very rich tonal quality. New strings, of course. As I've said : I used to play a 12-Str. Acoustic, years & years ago. This particular 12-Str. Ac.-El. "Box" appears to have been Bought & Never Used ; I saw no scratches or such. ... 1968 ... @ that Yr., in English Class (11th Gr.), I was reading Ralph Waldo Emerson's Essay : "Self-Reliance". In there, R.W.E. wrote : "Trust Thy Self. To Thine Own Self, Be True. Every Heart Vibrates to That Iron String !" ... I shall Nick-Name my "Box" : "Waldo" ! ... I have now : "Learn & Master Guitar", taught by pro player & experienced teacher "Steve Krenz", put out by "Legacy Learning Systems". (I believe it was at this website, where I 1st saw it advertized.) It consists of a 108 Pg. Book , 20 Lessons (on 10 DVD's), & 5 "Jam Along" CD's. All those Materials are Inter-Related & Cross-Correlated. ... and it's Excellent ! & well worth the few $$ Dollars.
Re: Electric Or Acoustic?
I enjoy both. Would not want to be without one or the other.
