Topic: Try to be careful with the words

So many of the words for song I search are incorrect. I understand that many of the people that post these songs are not native English speakers, but sometimes it seems that they are just guessing at what the words are. It's frustrating on occasion.

Re: Try to be careful with the words

Welcome to the forum kylerpotter. I see you've been a member for a few years, but evidently you don't realize how chordie works. None of the songs you see are hosted by chordie. Chordie is simply a search engine that draws tunes from other sites and formats them in an easy to read format. Chordie does not control the song posts and your complaints should go to those sites that do. Bear in mind these tabs / chord / song postings are mostly done by amateur musicians for their own use so obviously they will not be exact to the original recording.

Rule No. 1 - If it sounds good - it is good!

Re: Try to be careful with the words

This happens alot. I'll bet there are some songs you hear that you don't know the correct words to. Most famous is probly Jimi Hendrix. "'cuse me while I kiss this guy".

Keep Rockin!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Try to be careful with the words

Hi kylerpotter
I believe the "Edit" feature for most of Chordie's songs is up and running again so just alter the lyrics to suit yourself. smile

Re: Try to be careful with the words

Back in the day I had a night club cover band. It was very important to be accurate with lyrics while the song was making it's way up and down the top 40 hit list and for some years after. People who love the song are quick to pounce if the lyrics are wrong.
However after a much longer time, our arrangement would evolve and on some songs we inserted funny lyrics so we would not be so bored with playing it so often.

We pronounce it "Guf Coast".
Ya'll wanna go down to the Guf?

Re: Try to be careful with the words

A Radio station here in Germany calls it "Oma fiel ins Klo" Songs (roughly translates as: Granny fell into the toilet)... the original was of course "Oh my fellings grow"...

Sometimes it's not only hard, but next to impossible to hear the lyrics right (and on occasion that's the case in German for me as well). I finally found chords for a song I was searching for for ages and now I can't figure out parts if the lyrics... Sooo... if you Kyle or someone else wan'ts to give it a shot: When Justice Came by The Black Velvet Band

Some words are impossible to make out for me... So I guess sometimes it's next to impossible...

Cheers,

Tom
