Gidday,
New years resolution is to try to learn to sing!
I enjoy playing guitar But my singing is terrible.
i don`t want to be great, just not bad.
Is learning to singalong in tune very hard?

It's 99% confidence, and 1% talent.
Belt it out and you'll sound fine.
This guy:

has a whole bunch of short snippets dealing with various aspects of singing. The advice is free and worth twice the price.
Jerome O'Neil is correct. Nothing sounds worse than a timid singer.
If you're gonna hit a note that is a stinker, splatter it off the walls with gusto.
If you're going down, go down swinging. it's all about confidence.
Start out with a song you know well that doesn't have too much range.
Drill it over and over until you can't mess up.
Ah, the low brass ethic of "when in doubt, play loud" has infested your singing tastes has it Toots? No worries. The same is true of me. Not that my singing is any good, but it does feel good to sing loudly. In fact, I think in most instances volume substitutes for quality.
