Topic: Happy Birthday Jimi!

I didn't see this posted elsewhere so I thought I'd start a Hendrix birthday thread. He was a huge influence on my playing (and is the sole topic of my arm and back tattoos) - amazing to me that he was only 28 when he died. He did more in 4-6 years than many other guitar players do in a lifetime.

hey bgd,he was a great player,to bad we lost him so early in his life. I learned something from a Rolling Stone song,You cant always get what you want,the lyrics words I was standing in line with Mr Jimmy was about Jimi hendrix.

The set from Woodstock will always be memorable for me. He closed the concert early on Monday morning in front of a fraction of the 500,000 who were there for the weekend.

Imagining awaking from a 3 day party hearing his closing set brings chills to my spine. I was raised very near the town of Woodstock, NY -I was only 5 yo at the time of the concert, but I remember the adults talking about the show and the traffic problems that occurred even as far away where we lived (about 1-1/2 hours from Bethel, where the concert actually was)

He also got booed off stage opening for THE MONKEES.Can anyone figure that one out.Also,the Jimi Hendrix Experience is the only rock group that is completely(all its members) dead.There is no way it can be resurrected. I can also remember singing FOXY LETTUCE while playing foxy lady just to bug my wife.Not the whole song,just the major part
