Topic: Les Paul for Narrowboat

We have a new member with the handle Narrowboat.  He put a question at the end of another thread.  It looked like it was placed there as an honest mistake, so I thought I'd help him out by moving it here for better exposure.

Here it is in its entirety:
"hi everyone,
alan s here alias narrowboat I am new to the forum and would appreciate some help.

I started playing 3yrs ago a lifetime ambition but at 66 years of age I am a little slow however, am looking to buy a used epiphone les paul. It looks superb but the serial no. given to me over the phone is+10041509595 and I cannot trace this anywhere on the internet. Could anyone advise me, all the numbers I have come across have fewer digits than this one and the various sites tell me this is unrecognisable.
Look forward to your resplnse....... Thank you in adviance - Alan"

Re: Les Paul for Narrowboat

That doesn't look like an Epiphone serial number.   It should start with a letter.

How old is the guitar?

Someday we'll win this thing...

Re: Les Paul for Narrowboat

It could be a promotional guitar.  I wone a Epi once and when I called  the factory they said it was a PRO-MO only and had no warrenty.

Get the number again and then just call teh Epi help line.
