I love boxing, and cringe at the state of the heavyweight division these days. Frazier was one of the truly great boxers back when the sweet science was exactly that.
I used to watch boxing back in the Frazier Ali days. It was exciting then.
Joey, really ?, not funny,just saying !
Ali, Frazier, Foreman and Norton, what a division it was then, the Klitchko's wouldn't have a gone more than a round with any of them.
RIP Joe
Jerry
In the lighweight category, I used to love watching Roberto Duran kick butt.

The last heavy weight bout I watched was Vitali Klitchko and Lennox Lewis. I'd never heard of the Klitchkos before. I figured Lewis was just using it as a tune up before some bigger fight.
Vitali lost the match after a cut opened up on his eye and the ref stopped it, but otherwise was cleaning Lewis's clock! I couldn't believe the pounding he was taking, and I especially couldn't believe the pounding he was delivering. When the ref stopped the match he was upset and demanded it go on. Lewis was visibly rattled afterwards. All three judges had Vitali ahead on their cards. Lewis ducked him for six months, and then retired rather than schedule a rematch with him.
The heavyweight division sucks to be sure, but at least one of the Klitchkos knows how to fight.
The last fight I really got into was Sugar Ray Leonard against Marvin Hagler in 1987.People say Hagler was robbed but I thought Leonard fought his way to victory. Funny thing, I wanted to see Hagler kick Leonards butt. The 10 second fight with Tyson didnt count. It was over before I sat down with a snack
DOWN GOES FRAZIER! DOWN GOES FRAZIER!
And I say that with utmost respect. Man those were the days of heavyweight boxing Ali, Frazier, Foreman -there would be an EPIC battle on FREE TV several times a yer. Smokin' Joe was one of the best. I also remember the middle weights Hagler, Hearns, Sugar Ray, but like Pete - I always loved Duran. Heard a story once that as a kid in Panama he painted his bike pink so when a kid made fun of him, he could kick their butt.
I don't remember the last boxing match I have seen. Nowadays its all about MMA (which is good in it's own way), but my entertainment budget does not allow for seeing all that on Pay Per View.
Never heard about the pink bicycle, but it sounds like Duran.
Nice Joey, hope you don't meet Frazier on the other side.
It seems boxing isn't what it used to be. I haven't watched in ages. Seems like all the real boxers are gone.
lost a good boxer there,I like too watch the lighter boxers though, alot more action.
I'll still watch Manny Pacquiao if I get a chance. That guy is awesome.
I was getting into WEC for a while before it got bought by UFC. I liked the fact that the matches were officiated a little tighter so there wasn't quite the same emphasis on just pounding a guy into jelly. It let the fighters use their techniques and strengths without the fight turning into a bloody mess.
I think I have to quote the Avett Bros," You can`t make evertbody happy all of the time"
