Topic: I need someone to help explain the riffs

I dont understand the six lines and numbers on each to do a lead in or a riff in a song...i know its got to be simple..

The other most common symbols you'll see in tab are  /, h, & p

/ this indicates a slide...  For instance 3/5 would mean to pick the note on the 3rd fret and then slide to the 5th

h means hammer on...  So 3h5 would mean to hit the note on the 3rd fret and then using another finger you hammer on (fret quickly) to the  5th.

p is a pull off... take 5p3.  You'd play the note on the 5th fret and then release it with the 3rd fret already.
