Topic: If I Die Young -The Band Perry

Hey there!

Does anyone have the chords or tabs worked out on guitar for this song that they'd share? If so, I'd greatly appreciate it! I'm "dying" to play this song. ;-)

Thanks!

A,E,B,C#m. Some places just A,E and B.

We pronounce it "Guf Coast".
Ya'll wanna go down to the Guf?

Hey FN! Love this song! Play it all the time. the way I play it is in G I believe so I'll give you the chords for that or I saw a good youtube video on it I think played in A. The song is super easy. Pull up the music video and play along with them that will help with timing. Good luck!

Re: If I Die Young -The Band Perry

Hi, I sang along and played the one in G from cowboy lyrics as well as looked up some tutorials on youtube.  I'd just use a Bm instead of what they put on there for the Bm4 (plus, I can't do barre chords... my index finger hates them, but I can fake a Bm just fine).  smile  Have fun!!!

Haha! I definitely know what you mean about barre chords. But the way I did my Bm4 wasn't barred. I thought that was how then showed it at cowboy lyrics... maybe not. I prolly read wrong. Anyway, great song I wrote out a solo part for it too. I'll try to get it up here.

Re: If I Die Young -The Band Perry

Okay, got that solo... This is just something I put together not official, hehe. Nice if there's two instruments.

Alrighty, first go find their video on youtube. that'll help while I explain where and when to play the solo. At the end of the third "sharp knife of a short life, well I've had just enough time" (on their yt video it's at about 2:00 [It's when she goes up on "time"].)

e    25-5320-020 0               Then play again.
B  3                  3 30
G
D
A
E

Then after you sing "funny when you're dead how people start listenin" (At about 2:41) you play:

e  25-5320-
B
G
D
A
E

Play around with it. It's pretty fun. I know it's not exactly right, Just what I thought sounded good. smile

Re: If I Die Young -The Band Perry

solo?  you mean you aren't just strumming this?  LOL!  I'll let my son know, he seems to want to play it with me... he likes solos and picking!  wink

Re: If I Die Young -The Band Perry

Haha! It's so simple I don't know that you could even call it a solo. But it's easy and sounds okay. Hope he likes it. smile
