Topic: Help improve Solos

I havent been playing for that long, and have just been doing mainly covers of songs i like. However Ive come to the point where i need to start writing songs and solos.
However i just cant improve my soloing. And suggestions?

Scales.  Learn them, live them, play them.

Well i really like RHCP alot so i cover them. I also like hendrix and clapton so i also like to cover them.

Learn the minor pentatonic scale, blues scale, mixolydian scale and dorian scale, each in A, E, G, C, D, and F.
