Topic: Garage Sale and Garage Band?

My wife, son and I purged the house yesterday of several items we no longer want or need. We moved all the items to the garage. I photographed them and placed a “Garage Sale"  listing on Craig’sl List. Within ten minutes of the posting I had three emails and two phonecalls. I sold two items within 30 minutes.

Expecting to receive a deluge of buyers I set up shop in the garage. Me, a few adult beverages, and my trusty Seagull. This weekend has been unusually not hot in Atlanta so I was able to comfortably sit on some of the furniture we are trying to sell and strum away. A true garage band? Probably not but a simple pleasure not easily matched.

I am hoping to “need"  to mind the shop today. What is the internationally accepted policy on when the first adult beverage gets consumed?

p.s. All my shoppers asked about the guitar. Not for sale.

It is normal not to consume an adult beverage until 'the sun is over the yard arm'.

By my reckoning 'the sun is over the yard arm' at some place in the world so you can start when you like smile.

Yep, Roger has it right.  You may start drinking at any time.

I have finally found happiness in my life.  Guitars, singing, beer and camping.  And they all intertwine wonderfully.

Thanks for the ruling.  But pacing is important for many reasons not the least of which I am in Georgia and I cannot resupply on Sunday. I do not want consumption to outstrip supply otherwise I may have to knock on the doors of some of my neighbors.

Re: Garage Sale and Garage Band?

Apparently adult beverage time is at 5:30pm. Few customers today so I ended up doing yard work, etc and NOT playing my guitar. But when it was all done I did partake of one adult beverage. Guitar later... if I can stay awake. Tired I am.

Re: Garage Sale and Garage Band?

You are on a diet, aren't you? One?  You don't have a beverage holder on the old mower?

No diet Pete. Just trying to be responsible. By the way my garage is still full of stuff so the "sale" continues. More garage band I hope.

Re: Garage Sale and Garage Band?

It is recommended that you be awake before you begin drinking.

Good luck with the garage sale.

Re: Garage Sale and Garage Band?

I am with Roger on this.  Never drink before noon.  It is always noon somewhere.

Someday we'll win this thing...
