Topic: broken doll

hi, just to say that i've recorded a new version of "broken doll" and it can be heard on my-space and sound click. it's quite different from the original as that was done on piano, this is on guitar and i've changed some of the chords.

please have a listen and let me know your thoughts on it?

thanks

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Re: broken doll

Hi Phill
I really liked the original piano version saying that I would be hard pressed to say which one I liked the best both are good in their own way.
I liked the simplicity of the piano and vocals of the 1st recording. You've done a good job with the 2nd one the guitar giving this one a folksy feel to the song.
well done.
Tony

Re: broken doll

I have not listened to the piano version I liked the mellow feel of this song sounds like something the Beatles would have done nice guitar fills and chords well done Phill smile

Re: broken doll

Phill... I didn't listen to the piano version either... but WOW... I agree with Russell, this sounds much like something the Beatles would have done.  I found myself WANTING to listen to the end to hear the entire story.  EXCELLENT!!

What constitutes excellent music is in the ears of the listener.

Re: broken doll

thanks to you all, the piano version was put up last year or the year before, i think? roger did a version which took it to another level for me with a fuller sound.

i am a big beatles fan, but it never occurred to me that it was beatlesk!!! (if that's the correct spelling) it was just a childhood memory of me getting into trouble and my older cousin helping me out of it! it's strange that it came out as a girl song, i used to use my sisters dolls as target practice for my darts!

thanks again for listening
