Topic: french songs

are we allowed to post chords and lyrics to french songs by original french artists, also,if I have tried to write my first song-and it is not english but french, and i can't figure out how to put chords to it yet-can I post it?Thankyou

Re: french songs

Hi vespa
Welcome to Chordie.
If you mean by original that the song doesn't already belong to an artist and is written by the person who is posting the Lyrics and chords then ok.
If the the potenial song has only lyrics but no chords then please use the poem forum.

If the song is in french there's no problem but it might have limited appeal in an English speaking forum.

Re: french songs

Hey Vespa,

Fell free to post your original songs here in what ever language you write them in, but you might want to post an english translation (before someone asks). I actually enjoy songs in other languages, including french, but I also want to know the english translation as well (not so good at understanding french).

If you want to post a french artist's songs you will have find another web site because chrordie doesn't do that.

Thanks.

Re: french songs

Thank you for answering.I ended up busy with my children's homework sorry.I actually tried google translate but I will need time rewriting it as mistakes happen regularly during online translations. Will post it in a few weeks when I get free time. Thanks Vespa

Re: french songs

Thanks Vespa - I understand. Translation now a days is fairly easy, what with all the online tools availible, but translating a song from one language into a song in another language is very difficult. Good luck and I look forward to your posting.

Re: french songs

Hi Vespa
I know someone who speaks fluent French and plays the piano - I'd be interested in showing her your song if you like - French is no problem.
Cheers
