Anyway, the dude did some amazing stuff. He spent a lot of time in India, and fused Carnatic and western diatonic music. Quite awseome stuff.
This is him with Jonas Hellborg (a monster in his own right) and the Vinayakram Brothers in Paris. This DVD was my introduction to him. I was laying in bed thinking "this guy is pretty good." Then he did that thing with his left hand and I had to rewind it a couple of times.

I love it when a dude "goes somewhere else" when he plays. Shawn Lane was born somewhere else, and still managed to find new places to go.
This is another one I love. Check out the bass Hellborg is playing. The fretboard on that thing is wide enough to land aircraft on.
