Hello daddcool - I took the liberty of correcting the coding so that 'Danny Boy' would show up all nice & purdy like. Although this forum is intended for original songs, I shall allow this one to remain for 2 reasons: 1) It is way out of copyright, so no legal problems, and 2) The story behind the song is a fascinating peek into the history of popular music.
Here is a Wikipedia link to an article about this beloved lyric and 'Londonderry Air' the tune it is most often set to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danny_Boy
There are also several intersting links at the end of the article to sound files and other references materials.
Those of us who try to write songs will enjoy reading about how this song survived to be so well known. James
